Your website might be fine. It might need some work. It might not even be a thing yet because you're brand new or your IG is going off anyway so like, do you really need one (yes you do).
Whatever your current situation, I've got four ways to get you a site that doesn't make you immediately change the subject when someone asks for your URL. Pick your poison.
For when you need a proper website *yesterday* and don't want to sell a kidney for it. You've got your shit together (copy, images, brand sorted), you just need someone to build you something clean and functional that looks slick.
Perfect if you're just starting out, your business genuinely doesn't need seventeen pages to explain what you do or you’re not ready to commit to a big dawg site.
Best if you're thinking "I just need something up that doesn't make me cringe" – this gets you there without the three-week timeline or the emotional damage of trying to DIY it again.
$1760 incl GST
For when you want a whole new site but you don’t want to sell a kidney to get it. You bring the template (I can help you pick one), then I tear it apart and rebuild it so it looks like it’s all yours, not like the 73 other photographers who bought the same one.
I freakin’ love a template. They’re perfect if your biz is evolving, you’ve outgrown your DIY site, or you just want something new, quickly.
By the end you’ll have a site that’s basically a custom build in disguise, minus the price tag and emotional damage.
$2420 incl GST
For when you’re ready to burn your old site to the ground and start again (in a fun, non-arson way). We design the whole thing from scratch, every page, every layout, every word placement (strategy, baby!) so it fits your business like one of those bandage dresses that used to be all the rage, you know the ones.
Ideal if you’ve got a big or complex offer suite, want to go deep on strategy, or have a really specific vision you want brought to life. Or if you just want to go hard, not go home.
You’ll end up with a site you’re borderline smug about sending people to, instead of muttering “it’s on my to-do list” for the eighth month in a row.
$4840 incl GST
For when your site is basically fine but also quietly giving you the ick. I’ll spend a day cleaning it up - fixing weird spacing, updating fonts and colours, wrangling your galleries, and generally making it feel less like a rushed uni assignment. Whatever you want, really - give me a list and I’ll get in there.
Best if you like your site mostly, it’s just not quite hitting for some reason — this is a non-invasive face lift, if you will, not a brand new head.
You still get to say “yeah, I built it myself”, it’ll just look more like what you envisioned in your head rather than whatever actually happened when you were clicking around.
$1100 full day, $650 half day incl GST
What up, I'm Ellie. Website designer, general 'yeah I'll give it a go' type, and the person who'll make sure your site is cool AND functional.
I mostly work with women-led small businesses (lots of photographers, but not only) who are keen for a website that feels solid, good-looking, easy enough for their nan to use but not the online equivalent of a cardboard sign.
The 'yeah I'll give it a go' thing means you can throw me your half-baked ideas, your "is this even possible?" questions, and your 11pm anxiety spirals about whether you need a blog (you don't). I've been doing this for four years, which means I've seen enough weird website situations to not be fazed by yours.
I'm based in Newcastle, usually glued to an energy drink (sugar-free because "health"), and happiest (in a work context, obvs, not just in general, sad) when I'm untangling messy tech setups or turning vague ideas into websites that you want to tell everyone to look at.
I won't make you feel shit for not knowing what DNS means. I won't judge your current website (or lack thereof). And I definitely won't use the word "elevate" in any of our conversations.
Let's build a cool thing. FUN.
if anyone knows the importance of a good website it's me. the web designer who didnt have a wbsite for almost four years.
That's what she said
- Suzi, Suzi Chadwick Photography
"She picked up technical issues in Showit that I honestly never would've known were affecting my site and even my Google visibility. Before she dove into the work, she completed the most thorough audit and flagged things I had no idea were causing problems."
- Nat, Natalie Alder Creative
"The site is everything I hoped for and somehow still looks like a better version of what I'd imagined.
The website doesn't just look incredible it works. It moves beautifully, navigates smoothly, and I've already noticed a boost in my SEO since launching."
- Gemma, Love, Gem Photography
"Ellie absolutely NAILED the brief! I'd tried SO MANY DIY websites in the past that just didn't cut the mustard so it was super important to me that I invested in someone who cared just as much about creating a website that represented my business, as I do. The preparation and attention to detail Ellie takes is above and beyond what I ever expected"
- Rosie, Willow & Rose Photography
"Every silly question I asked she helped me understand, and there was many haha. Her content doc really helped me write out all the content for my website and that was a HUGE help. The whole process was seamless. From the beginning she completely had my trust."
Laani installed a template herself and honestly? It was totally fine. But a few things just weren't quite right and she's a mad photographer who's just out here trying to do her job, not learn a full new skill as a website designer too.
So I fell into my little gremlin cave for a day and pulled her site back out all shiny and new.
Her actual DM to me:
"I'm crying. You've made me look so good. It seriously looks sooooooo fucking good... I honestly was just expecting you to list my services and collections and then look at what looked like a heading and swap it to a h1 or h2. This is why photographers should stick to photography 😂"
Now she literally gets people commenting on her site on the reg, asking where she got it done. PLUS she's also now super confident updating stuff herself - in the last two months she's been in there swapping images, updating copy, adding new sections. That's the actual goal.
Em from Zephyr Digital had it all - 7 years in the game, nearly 20k followers, booked solid through DMs. She has a website, but it was old, and she was curious (and maybe a little sceptical) about whether an updated site might make a difference.
Fresh branding from Brooke at Cooper Creative, a hot little template, and my copy framework to help her find her words = a complete transformation.
Week one after launch? EIGHT enquiries through her website. From the usual zero.
Turns out even established photographers with huge followings need a proper home base. Who knew? (Me. I knew.)
Gem had done the DIY thing but was ready to invest properly - especially with wedding photography becoming a bigger part of her business. We went full custom, built something that matched her ambitions.
Now? She's booking weddings so far ahead she's having to turn people away. Constantly.
Plot twist: Gem is Em from Zephyr's sister-in-law. When Gem first invested in her custom site, Em was like "woah that's a massive investment, you don't need to do that."
Fast forward to after Gem's site started pulling in bookings like crazy... Em booked her own template install. Her message after launch? "OH I GET IT NOW."
Sometimes you need to see your sister-in-law killing it to realise what you're missing.
Drop me a line via my enquiry form below with a bit about you and what you're after. I'll hit you back within 48 hours with all the details.
